In the last two posts I talked about two series but today I am back to chat about a movie that's undeniably riveting. Veronica is a 2017 Spanish supernatural horror drama film directed by Paco Plaza. The movie plot is loosely based on true events from 1991.
Veronica has taken care of her little brother and sister since the death of their father and as a teenager, she had too much responsibility due to her familial circumstances. One day during a total eclipse of the sun, Veronica and two friends decide to make an Ouija board in order to invoke her father's spirit, At the very peak of the eclipse, the glass shatters. Veronica enters a kind of trance an passes out, frightening her friends. Veronica recovers and goes home. But there, she starts to pick up on slight changes like experiencing objects that move, breathing in the dark and she's still unaware of the horrific outcome that awaits her. After the occurrences not knowing what to do she goes to seek help from Sister Death who is a blind nun and claims that she speaks with the dead. This is a horror movie like any other but what differentiates it from the others is realism.
